Visiting

Before you come in

One hour is $15 plus tax. Half-hour visits are $8 plus tax and available on weekdays. We also offer five-visit and ten-visit passes at a discount, available in person at the cafe. See our full pricing breakdown.
We're at 360 State Lane in downtown Orlando, between Livingston and Robinson, one block west of Orange Avenue — look for the purple building. Metered street parking is sometimes available on State Lane for $1/hour (free on Sundays), and the Jefferson Street and Society Orlando garages are a short walk. Full details and a map are on our Visit page.
We ask that you enjoy only food and drinks purchased from our cafe while inside, both in the coffee shop area and the cat lounge.
Of course. Our front coffee shop area has plenty of seating and relaxation space, and the cats don't come out here. You're welcome to use our WiFi, grab a book from our Little Free Library, or grab lunch while your friends or family visit the cats in back.
Service animals are welcome in our coffee shop area, but not in the cat lounge — introducing an unfamiliar animal into that space would be stressful for our resident cats and could compromise the controlled environment we maintain for their health and safety. As permitted under the ADA, we may ask the two legally allowable questions about your service animal upon entry.
We're open every day except Monday, 52 weeks a year — including Christmas, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, Labor Day, New Year's Eve, Presidents Day, Arbor Day, and Bongo's Birthday. If it's not a Monday, we're open.
Reservations

Booking your visit

Walk-ins are welcome on weekdays. Reservations are strongly recommended on weekends and during school holidays, and are almost always necessary then. Reserve your cat time online rather than calling — we book exclusively through our online system.
We offer refunds for any reservation canceled more than 24 hours before your appointment time. Appointments can be rescheduled online up until one hour before your scheduled time. Refund availability will be based on the originally scheduled reservation time.
No-shows aren't refunded. If you contact us the day of your appointment, we can reschedule you for a future date, but the original visit won't be refunded.
Half-hour visits are only available for purchase at the cafe for walk-ins, based on availability. They're only available on weekdays — not Saturdays or Sundays.
The cats

About our residents

All of our cats come from our rescue partner, CATS CAN. Every cat is fixed, tested negative for parasites, feline leukemia, and feline AIDS, fully vaccinated, and microchipped before joining us.
They come from a number of different places. Some are TNR cats (trap-neuter-release) — found living in a colony or on the streets, trapped and fixed. Normally those cats are returned to the colony after this, but some are clearly social and enjoy being around humans, so they're taken in as fosters and socialized with the rescue. Some are owner surrenders, whether a family member passed away and nobody can take their cats, or someone found cats behind their apartment and can't take them in. And finally, some of our fosters visit local county shelters and rescue cats off the euthanasia lists to give them a new chance in life.
Some of our cats may be peopled-out, or are new residents still getting acclimated. Some may be taking a break in the litter room, away from visitors. They're living creatures, and they deserve their own alone time when they want it.
No — we can't allow any cats into the cafe that didn't come through our rescue partner, CATS CAN. This is for both medical and cat social dynamics reasons. We also do not accept cats for rehoming at the cafe; if you need to rehome a cat, please contact CATS CAN directly.
Kids & allergies

Bringing the family

No. All visitors age 3 and up need their own admission to enter the cat lounge. Minors under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. We ask parents to consider whether younger children are ready to behave gently and calmly around the cats before booking a reservation.
Quiet voices, gentle hands, and letting the cat come to you rather than chasing or grabbing go a long way. Our staff is always happy to walk kids through the basics when you arrive.
Adoption

Taking a cat home

Adoption fees are $160, or $50 for senior cats age 7 and older. If you adopt a second cat at the same time, whether a bonded pair or just two cats who get along, the second cat's adoption fee is only $60.
No — Bongo is our house cat and isn't going anywhere. Every other resident cat is available for adoption.
Not at all. We allow a 24-hour hold on a cat you're considering — as we like to joke, don't make a 15-year decision in 15 minutes. The hold fee is $15 and non-refundable, but it gives you time to go home, have a meal, maybe sleep on it, and make sure you're not making an impulsive decision.
If you fall in love and we believe your home is a good match for the cat, we don't require any waiting period to take a cat home.
No — we'll ask what we need to know to make sure your home is a good fit for the cat you're taking home. Some cats do best in a quieter home with no children; others would love to have kids or a kitty sibling to play with. Some cats are fine with dogs, and some aren't. Our questions are about finding the right match, not paperwork.
No need — we have cardboard carriers we can put together on the spot so you can bring your new kitty home safely.
